Spartans come away with 2 wins in there first outdoor meet of the season

The Spartans competed against Joliet West and Providence on Tuesday at Romeoville High School.  The final score was Romeoville 70, Providence 63 and Joliet 42.  Leading the way with two wins for the Spartans were:

Kelvin Jones: Discus 153'7" and Shot Put 48'7", Malik Riley: 100m dash 11.24 and 200m dash 23.17.

Those with one win were:

Luis Loza 51.78 (PR) in 400m dash, Ian Irvine 10:32 in the 3200m, Marcos Povilaitis 41.78 (PR) in 300 IH, Jared King 5'8" in high Jump.

The 4 x 100 (Riley, Bobby Tello, Anthony Kitchens and Antwone Burge) and the 4 x 200 (Birley Johnson, Riley, Anthony Kitchens and Lonnie Trent) also won.

The Frosh/Soph also competed against both schools.  The final score was Providence 96.5, Romeoville 45.5 and Joliet 23.  Winners for the spartans were

Daytwone Burge 18.27 (PR) 110m HH and 19'6.5" (PR), Dan ford 11:17 in the 3200m, Davon Maxey 36'6" in shot put.  

Runner ups for the spartans:

4 x 100 (Trent, Johnson, Burge, Xavier Jones) 46.56, Elvis Quiroz 2:44 800m, Tyree Allen 36'4" in shot put, Davon Maxey 100'10" in discus, Trey Harbert 35'2" in triple Jump.

The Spartans compete on April 11th at the AA Stagg Invitational.
