The Spartans traveled to Lewis University to participate in the final indoor meet of the season. The Bolingbrook fast times meet produced just that for several of the Spartans. Leading the way for the Spartans with his hand in 2 event victories was Luis Loza. Luis lead the 4 x 800 meter relay team to the title with a 2:02 split. He then came back in the open 800m with another victory in a time of 2:01.12 ( a season pr). The next double placer was Malik Riley. He placed 5th in the long jump with a jump of 20'.5" and then came back in the triple jump and finished in 4th place with a jump of 41'7". Leading the way in number of performances was, freshman, Daytwone Burge. Daytwone made the finals of the 55 m HH and placed 8th with a career PR of 8.85. He placed 11th in the long jump with a distance of 18'6". His final race was the 200m dash and he finished with a time of 25.48, also a career mark. Marcos Povilaitis also made the finals of the 55 mHH and placed 3rd with a career PR of 8.33. Ian Irvine competed in the winning 4 x 800 team aswell as cruising to a season PR of 4:37.54 and a 3rd place finish in the 1600m. Also getting a PR in the 1600 was Carlos Ibanez with a time of 4:51.62. there were also 2 PR's in the 3200m run. Justin Suits ran a career best 10:08.41, placing 3rd and Matt Bush ran a 10:18.62, placing 6th. Also hitting a Personal pr was Victor Osinloye in the shot put. Victor finished in 3rd place with a throw of 48'10". There were 2 others who competed on the 4 x 800m team, David Andrews and Ezekiel Cabanas. Finally competing in 2 events and obtaining 1 pr was Xavier Jones. Xavier just missed the finals of the 55m dash, with a time of 6.95. Xavier came back in the triple jump and finished in 3rd place with a career pr of 41'8". The Spartans are competing next at home in their 1st outdoor meet against Providence and Joliet West on March 30th.
