The Spartans traveled to Palos Heights this weekend. They came home with a 3rd place finish (87) behind Oswego East (102) and Thornton (96). The Spartans had several top performances. Leading the way with first place finishes were: Kelvin Jones in the discus (138'), 4 x 800 m (Luis Loza, Ian Irvine, Dave Andrews and Ezekiel Cabanas) 8:23.72. Second place finishers were: Loza in the 1600m (4:35.88), Jared King in high Jump (5'11"). Third place finishers were: Cabanas in the 800m (2:07.55), Marco Povilaitis in the 300 IH (41.99), Ibuku Akandea in the high jump (5'9"), Victor Osinloye in the Discus (129'10") and Matt Bush in the 3200m (10:25.85). Fourth place finishers were: Daytwone Burge in the long jump (20'4"), Xavier Jones in the triple jump (41'1") and Kelvin Jones in shot put (44'11"). Fifth place Finishers: Malik Riley in the 100 (11.36), Irvine in the 1600m (4:43.42), Riley in the triple jump (40'2") and the distance medley (Dan Ford, Elvis Quiroz, Anthony Vodicka and Carlos Ibanez) 12:14.56. Sixth place finishers were: Daytwone Burge in the 110m HH (15.94), 4 x 100m (Riley, Gavin Hawrey, Joe Otchere, Povilaitis) 44.99. The Spartans travel to Naperville North next Friday for the Gus Scott ABC invitational.
