Spartans open up the 2014 season with dual wins over Metea Valley and Providence.

The Romeoville Boys Track and Field team opened their season last night with a dual win over Metea Valley and Providence. The fin al score was RHS 72, Metea Valley 41 and Providence 29. Leading the way for the Spartans with wins was:

 

D’Aaron Williams, 55m dash 6.5

Luis Loza, 800m run   2:11

D’Lante Dawson, 200m dash 24.5

Kelvin Jones, Shot Put 49’6”

Giorgio Terracciano, Long Jump     19’9”

Curshawn Pruitt, Triple Jump 41’7”

4 x 160 relay (Williams, Dawson, Chris Edmondson & Miguel Ford) 1:17.7

 

The Spartans swept both sprinting events and the triple jump. Marcos Povilaitis placed second in the 55m HH (8.5), Mitch LaFond placed 2nd in High Jump (6’), Mike Samuelson placed 2nd in 800m (2:12), Armando Cortez second in the 1600 (4:53), Malik Riley was 2nd in triple jump (39’9.5”).

 

The frosh/soph team lost to Metea Valley but beat Providence. The final score was MV 61, RHS 49, Prov 32. The Spartans are back in action on March 10th at North Central College at the Downers Grove South Relays.

 

The young spartans competed against Metea Valley and Providence on Friday.  The Spartans split the night, losing to Metea Valley and defeating Providence.  Leading the way for the Spartans was:
