Spartans open with a Double win over Providence and Metea Valley

The Romeoville Spartans hosted Providence and Metea for their first full team meet of the season.  Leading the way for the Spartans with victories were:

4 x 800 (Ian Irvine, Dave Andrews, Zeke Cabanas and Dan Ford)  8:56

Justin Suits (3200m) 10:13.2

Jordan Nettles (55m) 6.14, the second fastest time in school and and field house history.

Dave Andrews (800m) 2:10.3

Midhun Ajikumar (400m) 1:00.5

Ian Irvine (1600) 4:55.62

4 x 400 (Irvine, Andrews, Ajikumar and Joe Otchere) 4:00

Xavier Jones (triple jump) 43'1" (career personal record)

Along with the above winners, we had some runners up as well.  Victor Osinloye hit a career throw in shot put with a toss of 49'5".  Dan Ford had an opening 1600 run of 4:59.2.  Zeke Cabanas ran a 2:11 800m race.  Joe Otchere also ran a great 55m race in a time of 6.40.

The Spartans head to North Central College for the Downers Grove South Mustang relays on March 7th.
