The Spartans traveled to Oswego High School on Friday night and competed very well. The Varsity Spartans, lead by another record night for Amiri Buchanan, took 2nd place. Amiri was one of 2 Spartans who set meet records. On his way to winning both shot put and discus, Amiri threw 60’5” in the shot and 163’7” in the discus, both new meet records. The other spartan to win 2 individual championships was Kamari Rush. Kamari won the 100m dash in 11.10 (meet record) and he 200m dash (22.73). Other 1st place finishers were: 4 x 100m relay with a time of 43.64 (Joe De La Rosa, Jayden Green, Kejuan Stamps, Keedan Foster), Enoch Antwi in the triple jump (45’1.25”). The spartans had several runner up finishes as well. They were: Jayden Green High Jump 5’11” (CPR), ANtwi in long jump (21’3.5”, SR), 4 x 200m relay 1:32.17 (Green, Stamps, Foster, De La Rosa), 4 x 400m 3:34.06 (De La Rosa, Jacoby Jones, Foster, Mike Thomas), Kejuan Stamps 100m dash (11.16). The spartans travel to Bolingbrook for the Carlin Nalley invite next weekend. On the frosh soph level, The spartans had 1 champion, Jacquille Brown in Triple Jump (40’2”) and 1 runner up, Brown in long jump (19’8.5”) and 1 third place finisher, Josh Kamuda in the 1600m run (4:47.51).
