St. Rita Invite Wrap Up

On Saturday, the track & field team opened up their 2021 season at the inaugural St. Rita Invite.  The Crusaders captured the team title besting second place Providence by 50 points as well as twelve other schools.  In all, the team had six event champions.  Nehemiah Ray earned the 'Athlete of the Meet' award by winning gold in both the 100m & 200m dash.  Other event winners were Mikey Corcoran in the 800m, Eddie Burke in the 1600m, Louie Conn in the discus & Julius Lujano in the shot put.  Second place performances came from Sean McNally in the 1600m, Marcus Kennedy in the high jump, and the 4x400 relay of Jack Antonsen, Burke, McNally, & Corcoran.  Third place efforts came from Antonsen in the 800m as well as Collin Rice in the discus.  Ray's time in the 100m currently ranks him seventh in the state.  Tomorrow the team travels to Thornton.
