IHSA Sectionals Wrap Up

On Friday night, the Track & Field team competed in the IHSA Lyons Township Sectional.  The Crusaders finished in 4th place as a team and overall qualified 19 athletes to the state finals in 7 events. For the 1st time in school history the Crusaders will be sending all four relays to the state meet.  The 4x200 team of Chase Hall, Nehemiah Ray, Anthony Matejko, & Ronan Dolan were sectional champions in a come from behind victory.  Also punching their ticket downstate with second place finishes were the 4x800 team of Eddie Burke, Tommy Gleeson, Mikey Corcoran, & Dan Spellman; the 4x100 team of Hall, Dolan, Matejko, and Justin Palmer; the 4x400 team of Palmer, Ray, Dolan & Gleeson; John McGlynn in the shot put, as well as Chase Hall in both the 100 and 200.  Hall is the 1st athlete to qualify for four events in school history. The team will compete in the state meet this Friday at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
