Women 4th, Men 6th at SLU Invitational

The Bearcats wrapped up the weekend with the women finishing 4th out of 17 teams while the men finished 6th out of 15 teams. Two newcomers, freshman Clayton Carroll and junior transfer Irma Maciukaite, had stand-out performances at the Saint Louis University Billiken Invitational. Clayton threw the Javelin to distance of 53.47 winning the meet. His performance currently leads the GLVC and officially etched his name in the McKendree school record books as he surpassed last year's GLVC champion's record. On the women's side, Irma ran a season best time of 1:01.04 in the 400mh finishing 2nd in the meet just .5 seconds away from that school record. Her time currently ranks tied for 7th in the NCAA.

Several personal bests were set at this weekend's competition including Cameron James with a pb in the 200m dash with a time of 21.29, Donovan Friscia in the 100m dash with a time of 10.67, and Megan Doty (SR) cracked the top-10 with a time of 2:21 in the 800m. LaTia Jefferson also set a personal best in the high jump with a leap of 5'1". Finally, Kyle Kleeman continues to improve in the conference standings as he sets personal bests in the LJ, 21' 4" and the TJ, 43' 5". Currently 9th and 5th in the GLVC, respectively. 

The Bearcats will perform this coming weekend at the Dewey Allgood Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T.
