Bearcat Women Race to 17th Place Finish at Rose-Hulman Pre-National Meet

(TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Oct. 6)—The McKendree University women's cross country team wrapped up its 2012 regular season with a 17th-place showing Saturday afternoon at the Rose-Hulman Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
A total of 30 teams raced in the event, which was run on the course that has served as host of NCAA championship meets in recent years. Johns Hopkins University was the winner of the women's race, followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College with Olivet Nazarene University in third place.
Nine runners took the course for McKendree. Junior Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) was the top finisher for the Bearcats as she posted a final time of 23:36. Inyart was listed in 51st place overall in the field of 326 runners. Junior Megan Doty (Collinsville, IL/Triad) and freshman Kourtney Huelskamp (Breese, IL/Mater Dei) crossed the line in 109th and 110thplace, respectively. Doty was clocked in a time of 24:28.0, while Huelskamp was just behind with an effort of 24:28.6.
The Bearcats will close out their 2012 season on Oct. 20 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship in Springfield, Mo.
