Wooldridge and Delaney advance to Sectionals; Team places 9th at Regional meet

Saturday, October 22 2011 - IHSA 3A Cross Country Regionals

Dan Wooldridge and Mike Delaney earned a spot in the field at next week's IHSA Sectional XC Meet at Dellwood Park in Lockport. Wooldridge (17th overall, 16:04) and Delaney (43rd, 17:12) qualified by placing among the top 5 individuals who are not on qualifying teams.

PNHS placed 9th out of 10 teams. Despite not qualifying as a team, there were still some career-best times to celebrate for the young Tigers squad. Cole Goshert (55th) shattered his lifetime best, breaking 18 minutes for the first time ever and running 17:47. Other Tigers with lifetime bests included Jack Malec (63rd in 18:24) and Tanner Thurman (64th in 18:26).

Also running for the Tigers today were Ben Defrancisco (65th, 18:28) and Tim Schrank (68th, 18:59).
