Two Athletes Named All-Conference at GLVC Meet

The McKendree Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the GLVC meet on Saturday, October 26th. The meet was hosted by Maryville University at Forest Park in St. Louis, MO. The Women's team placed 9th out of the 14 conference teams, with several individuals posting big PR's. The Men's team finished 10th overall. The women were lead by senior Megan Doty, who placed 8th in the field with a 6K time of 22:22, over two minutes faster than her performance last year. Freshman Karis Johnson was second for the Bearcats, followed by Lauren Ewart, who finished 27th and 46th. The men's team was lead by senior standout Blake DeLong, who placed 4th overall and posted a time of 24:31 for the 8K course. DeLong was followed by sophomore Erick Korir and freshman Dylan Hartley, who placed 65th and 67th overall. Senior individuals Blake DeLong and Megan Doty were named All-Conference runners by placing in the top 15. This is DeLong's second consecutive year collecting All-Conference honors. This is the first time in McKendree Women's Cross Country that a female has earned All-Conference honors.
