Girls - 2A State Championship

Kathryn Hopkins was the lone qualifier for the Falcons but made the team proud with a 3rd place finish!  She started the race in the first mile comfortably in the 12-20th place range heading into the Dip.  She worked her way strong up the Dip and into the back part of the course where she picked off tired runners that had gone out quicker than they should have.  By the time she was approaching the return portion of the course, she had taken 2nd place.  She was eventually passed on the Dip but stayed strong to finish a solid 3rd and breaking 20 minutes for the first time in one of the tougher courses in the country.  This was easily Kathryn's best run race of the year.
