Plains Girls Runner-Up at FR/SO Sangamon County Meet

The Plain’s Girl’s Fr/So Track & Field Team finished as runner-up at the Fr/So Sangamon County Track & Field Meet held in Rochester this past Friday. Auburn won the meet with 71 points, Plains scored 56 and  Rochester finished third with 53 points. 

Highlights include: 

Lauryn Leonard, 1^st place 100 Meter Dash in a season best time of 13.14. Lauryn Also won the 200 Meter Dash & won the Long Jump as well with a season best jump of 15’6.5”.

Lauren Feagans, 1^st place 300 Meter Hurdles and 2^nd place in the High Jump with a season best jump of 5’0”.

4x100 Relay, 1^st place, runners included Taylor Ferguson, Lauryn Leonard, Jillian Yakel, Lauren Feagans. 

4x400 Relay, 2^nd place, runners included Carolyn Nika, Carley Hamilton, Jillian Yakel and Lauren Feagans. Yakel and Feagans recorded their fastest 400 meter splits to-date during this relay.

Kenzie Schlicht placed 3^rd in both the Shot Put and Discus. Kenzie had a season best in the Shot Put with a heave of 26’.

Emily Russell, 3^rd place in the 3200 Meter Run. Emily also placed 5^th in the 1600 Meter Run with a season best time of 6:22.75.

Carley Hamilton, 4^th place 400 Meter Run.

Carolyn Nika, 4^th place 800 Meter Run.

Roya Nassirpour, 4^th place in the 100 Meter Hurdles.

4x800 Relay, 4^th place, runners included Hannah Lee, Carley Hamilton, Michaela Olson and Carolyn Nika.
