Illinois Top Times Indoor Track & Field Championships
Wednesday, March 25 2015Several members of the Pleasant Plains Girl's Track & Field Team have qualified for and will compete in the Illinois Top Times Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday, March 27th at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. In order to qualify for this meet, the unofficial State Indoor Track & Field Championship, coaches must enter athlete's times and marks from all indoor meets the athletes have competed in this season. If the athlete's efforts are good enough and rank among the best in the state, they can qualify to compete at this Indoor Championship. The best track and field athletes from across the state will be competing in this meet. In most events, only the top twelve to sixteen athletes and relays statewide qualify for this meet in their respective events. The top 24 athletes statewide in the 60 Meter Dash and the 60 Meter Hurdles can qualify. Qualifiers from the Plains Girl's Track & Field team include, the 4x200 Relay team of Lauren Feagans, Stephanie Race, Claire Watson and Lauryn Leonard; the 4x800 Relay team of Lauren Feagans, Carolyn Nika, Carley Hamilton and Ali Pankey; Amber Clouser will compete in the 60 Meter Hurdles; Ali Pankey will compete in the 800 Meter Run; Hope Tewes will compete in the 60 Meter Dash; and both Hope Tewes and Ali Pankey will compete in the High Jump.
