The Birmingham CrossPlex, opened in 2011, is a 750,000 square foot multi-purpose athletic facility which was opened to the public this past August. The track is a six-lane oval with the ability to hydraulically raise or lower the banked corners and its Mondotrack surface is one of only six in the United States. There are also eight additional 60-meter lanes for short sprints and hurdles, dual runways for pole vault, long jump and triple jump and configurable areas for throws and the high jump.
