(LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 4)—The McKendree University women's cross country team returned to action following a three-week break by participating in the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday afternoon in Kentucky.
Competing in the silver race, the Bearcats finished fifth overall out of the 46 teams entered in the event. McKendree had the top finish of the three Great Lakes Valley Conference teams who were in the field.
Freshman
Karyn Paisley (Macomb, IL/Macomb) led McKendree once again as she crossed the finish line in fourth place. Paisley covered the five-kilometer course in a final time of 18:46.86. Senior
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) brought home 33
rd place in the race with an effort of 19:35.47, while sophomore
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) rounded out the list of top 50 finishers for McKendree in 38
th position. Johnson posted a time of 19:42.15. There were 404 individuals who competed in the silver division race.
McKendree will head north next weekend for the Lucian Rosa Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. The event will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Oct. 11.
