Welcome to the 11th Annual Pete Reiff Boys Track Invitational held At Garber Stadium on Friday May 9th.

Mr. Pete Reiff was the Head Boys Track & Field coach from 1980 until his tragic death in 2003. His record as head track coach is unsurpassed in the Mid-Suburban League; nine Conference Championships including a 2nd place team finish at the 1997 IHSA State Meet. He also coached two all-Americans and had numerous all-state athletes and a run of ten consecutive years of conference dual meet victories.

Additionally, Mr. Reiff was also the Head Boys Cross Country coach from 1987 to 2003. His 1990 team was second in the State Meet down in Peoria.

As an athlete, Mr. Reiff finished third in the 1968 State Cross Country Meet and fourth in the two-mile run in the 1969 State Meet.

Mr. Reiff instilled in his athletes the desire to train and compete at the highest personal level possible so that the team could succeed; athletics is about teamwork. He believed that true self-esteem is a result of successful achievement of one’s goals.

Mr. Reiff taught social studies and instilled in his students the desire to become life-long learners, to think for themselves and stand up for what they believed. He instilled in his student-athletes:

“It’s all about team”
